Schedule social posts from Cursor
- One block in Cursor’s mcp.json
- Sign in with Tadween, or read an API key from your environment
- Post about what you built without leaving the editor
Tadween is a social media scheduler for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads and YouTube. Cursor works with it through Tadween’s MCP server, using the same tools as the agent inside the app. Read what it schedules before it goes out. Steps last checked against the vendor’s documentation on 10 October 2026. Every AI tool that works with Tadween.

Set up Cursor with Tadween: 3 steps
Tadween is not an app in any AI directory, so you add it to Cursor yourself as a remote MCP server. It takes about a minute, and you can remove it at any time.
Add Tadween to mcp.json
Paste this into Cursor’s mcp.json and save. Cursor asks you to sign in to Tadween the first time it connects.
{
"mcpServers": {
"tadween": {
"url": "https://studio.tadween.app/api/mcp-oauth-dynamic"
}
}
}- On Enterprise, an admin may limit which MCP servers Cursor can use.
- Cursor’s own documentation for these steps: Cursor docs: Model Context Protocol
Ask Cursor in plain words
From then on Cursor reaches for Tadween’s tools whenever a request needs them. Tadween keeps what it schedules and publishes it on time, whether the chat is open or not.
Write a LinkedIn post about the feature in this branch and save it as a draft for Wednesday.
Saved as a draft for Wednesday on your LinkedIn profile. It’s on your Tadween calendar to review.
Sent through Tadween- List my Tadween channels
- What goes out tomorrow?
- Post this release to Threads too
Add the block above to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or to .cursor/mcp.json in one project) and save.
Open Customize in Cursor’s sidebar and check that tadween is on. When Cursor asks you to sign in, sign in to Tadween in the browser and approve.
In the agent chat, ask “List my Tadween channels” to check the connection.
Sign in or API key: which should I pick?
Both reach the same Tadween tools. Sign-in keeps every secret out of your files; a key is read from your environment.
| Method | Sign in (OAuth) | API key |
|---|---|---|
| Address | https://studio.tadween.app/api/mcp-oauth-dynamic | https://studio.tadween.app/api/mcp |
| What goes in mcp.json | The address only | The address and an Authorization header that reads ${env:TADWEEN_API_KEY} |
| Where the secret lives | Nowhere in your files: you approve Cursor in a Tadween window | In an environment variable in your shell profile |
| How to switch it off | Revoke Cursor under Settings, Approved apps | Rotate the key under Settings, API & MCP |
Sign-in is the simpler choice. Either one works in every project from ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or in one project from .cursor/mcp.json.
With an API key instead
Copy your key from Tadween (Settings, API & MCP) and put it in an environment variable, in your shell profile:
Terminal export TADWEEN_API_KEY="<your-api-key>"Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and save. Cursor reads the key from the variable, so it is never written in the file:
~/.cursor/mcp.json { "mcpServers": { "tadween": { "url": "https://studio.tadween.app/api/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:TADWEEN_API_KEY}" } } } }Restart Cursor, then open Customize in the sidebar and check that tadween is on.
Cursor’s tools in Tadween
The same tools the agent inside Tadween uses, on the channels you connected.
Write posts
Drafts in English or Arabic, shaped for each network and its character limit.
Schedule or publish
Picks the channels, checks each network’s settings, and schedules, saves a draft or publishes now.
Read your calendar
Lists the posts in any period, so you can ask what goes out this week.
Bring in media
Imports an image or video from a public link into your media library and attaches it.
Make images and video
Generates images or short videos for a post, with your plan’s AI credits.
Work per client
Lists your customers and their channels, so agencies keep clients apart.
The agent can’t delete posts or rewrite one that is already scheduled. Those stay your decisions, in the calendar.
The Tadween MCP server, in short
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard AI tools use to plug into other apps. Tadween’s MCP server gives Cursor a set of tools for your workspace, so it can read your channels and calendar and schedule posts without you opening the dashboard.
What happens when you ask
With Tadween added, Cursor finds its tools by itself and picks the ones a request calls for.
- It looks up the channels in your workspace
- It reads each channel’s rules and settings before it writes
- It saves a draft, schedules, or publishes now: whichever you asked for
- It checks your calendar for what is already planned
- Your other Cursor connectors keep working beside it

Cursor, Claude Code or Codex?
All three are coding agents that can post to Tadween while you work. This page is for Cursor, the editor.
- This page
Cursor
An AI code editor. Add Tadween to mcp.json and ask its agent from the editor, with sign-in or an API key.
Claude Code
Anthropic’s agent in the terminal. One claude mcp add command adds Tadween, then you sign in from /mcp.
Codex
OpenAI’s coding agent for the terminal and editor. It connects as a remote MCP server, with sign-in or a key.
Cost, safety and fixes
What it costs
Connecting Cursor costs nothing extra. The MCP connection comes with every paid Tadween plan, and every plan starts with seven days free. Images and videos the agent makes use your plan’s AI credits.
Compare plansKeeping your workspace safe
With sign-in, Cursor opens a Tadween window and nothing connects until you approve it; no password is shared. A key, where a client takes one, goes in a header or an environment variable, never in a URL. Revoke an app under Settings, Approved apps, or rotate your key under Settings, API & MCP.
If it doesn’t connect
- The tools don’t show up: open the Output panel, pick MCP Logs and check that the address is exact.
- With a key: check that TADWEEN_API_KEY is set where Cursor starts and that the key wasn’t rotated, then restart Cursor.
- Tadween is off: open Customize in the sidebar and turn tadween on.
